At this current moment, Devon and Ashley are getting married in 51 days, 3 hours and 53 minutes. After spending a beautiful March evening with them for their engagement session I am SO looking forward to their wedding at Alta Vista Botanical Garden.
Let me give you a little back story on their love story. Ashley met Devon during their freshman year of college. On the second day of class, Ashley decided to sit a row closer to the front and Devon sat next to her. He had thought he was crashing a psychology class, but it was actually anthropology. They ended up becoming lab partners. A few weeks into the semester, they exchanged numbers and set up their first date. Ashley says they’ve been “pretty inseparable ever since.” They love to explore and travel. Being surrounded by nature is one of their favorite things and that is exactly why we chose the green, rolling hills hidden in Temecula, CA. We were far from the wineries and somewhere quiet and peaceful. The California Super Bloom surrounded us. While driving down the dirt road, we listened to my “Love Mix” and talked a bit more about their wedding. We stopped at little spots along the road to take pictures and let them snuggle.
During the session they shared their proposal story. Devon had planned a trip to Yosemite National Park. They were walking along and ended up in a meadow next to the river and under El Capitan. They saw a big oak tree and decided to take some self timer pictures. Devon went to reset the timer and when he got back over to Ashley he got down on one knee and asked Ashley to marry him. It was their own private moment that Devon managed to capture with his self timer! So smart!
Okay, so getting back to their engagement session. One of my favorite shots it the one where they are walking up to the stone house. They are hand in hand enjoying each others company. I just think it’s the perfect moment!
